Violent collision leaves San Francisco pedestrian on brink

March 19, 2013 - Blog, Pedestrian Accidents

A very serious pedestrian accident in San Francisco, California left a man in a dire situation. The collision occurred last week, as a driver struck the pedestrian. It appears the driver was travelling straight down the road (he was not making a turn); details about the pedestrian, however, have not been provided (the police are not sure if he was in the crosswalk or not).

According to the little information being provided in the wake of this unfortunate accident, the pedestrian suffered injuries that have been deemed “life-threatening.” The driver is cooperating with police as they investigate this accident.

There are a couple of things to take away from this tragic incident. The first is that the investigation into the crash will be intricate and labor-intensive. It will take a lot of time for crash reconstruction analysts to look at the available evidence and come up with an accurate summary of the accident. That conclusion will tell the police if the driver was speeding in the build-up to the collision and if the pedestrian was in the crosswalk.

The other factor here is that it does not appear that the driver was negligent in any way. It appears to be a true accident. However, that could change if the investigation yields crucial evidence. Should that occur, the pedestrian could seek civil action against the driver to help pay for medical bills, and pain and suffering. Even the most well-intentioned people can make mistakes sometimes; and in certain situations, the victims could seek civil justice.

Everyone at the Cartwright Firm is very likeable. The attorneys and staff are kind, thoughtful, and sincere. They helped walk me through the entire process and were patient when explaining the legal jargon I didn't understand. It is clear they not only really care about your claim, but care about making sure you understand whats going on. Can't recommend them enough!
